Hand to Hand is Project Open Hand’s largest annual fundraising event, bringing together donors, community leaders, and public figures for an evening of dinner, live programming, and auction in support of the nonprofit’s mission. As a high-visibility, live-broadcast event, the gala required a cohesive visual identity that could unite the in-room experience with the on-screen audience.
The branding needed to resonate with a ride range of attendees—from longtime donors to civic leaders—while elevating the presence and reinforcing the impact of Project Open Hand’s work.
My Role
I led the end-to-end branding and design for the Hand to Hand gala, owning the visual identity across all physical and digital touchpoints. From the event logo to live broadcast graphics, I designed a cohesive system that carried through the room, the event program, and the on-screen experience. In addition to designing the full visual system, I played an active role in live production—running the broadcast during the cocktail hour, overseeing audio, recording, and on-screen execution.
Final Execution
The final identity was deployed across the full gala experience—uniting the physical environment, printed materials, and live broadcast into a single, cohesive system. The design supported featured speakers and emcees, including the Mayor of San Francisco and prominent Bay Area sports announcers, while maintaining clarity and polish for both in-room guests and a televised audience.
